permit has not been obtained. The original plan review application will expire as no building permit
has been issued.
Plans submitted and not retrieved from the building department prior to the plan check expiration
date noted above will be destroyed.
The provisions of sections 304 {d) of the Uniform Building Code state:
"Section 304 9d) Expiration of Plan Review
Applications for which no permit is issued within one year following the date of
application shall expire by limitation, and plans and other data submitted for review
may thereafter be returned to the applicant or destroyed by the Building Official.
In order to renew action on an application after expiration, the applicant shall
resubmit plans and pay a new plan review fee."

Dear Mr. And Mrs. Goldstein,
The above application for a building permit has expired by limitation. The term of plan
check is for one year from the date application was made for the permit. Staff does not
have the authority to extend the term of plan check on an application that has expired.
As background, the permit was applied for on January 26, 2000. The plan check
process was completed, and the permit was ready to issue on October 20, 2000. A
telephone notification of this occurred on that date. On November 15, 2000, staff sent a
courtesy notice to you as contact person at 160 Tamarack (copy enclosed), to which
there was no response. Consequently, the application expired and the plans were
destroyed. The original plan check file retained by the City reflects these facts.
In order to renew action on this building permit application, a new application must be
made. The application and plans will be reviewed in their entirety as for a new project
when the new application is complete and a new plan check fee has been paid.
New plans will need to be submitted (two sets) If the scope of the permit application has
not changed, some of the prior documentation may be usable, although there is only
one set of structural calculations and soils investigation in the closed file. Additional
copies of these two items are necessary. The same Uniform Codes are in effect,
however there are new Title 24 California Energy regulations in effect, and revised
documentation will need to be provided (two sets please).
