NO PROCESSING WILL BEGIN UNTIL CITY HAS RECEIVED ALL REQUIRED SUBMITTAL ITEMS Background For land use permitting and requirements on signs, refer to chapter 21.41 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code, including an applicable specific plan, master plan or sign program. Depending on the scope of construction, a building permit may also be required. Please note ground-mounted/monument signs within the coastal zone also require a minor Coastal Development Permit. CERTIFICATE OF ACCURACY
I certify all documents and plans clearly and accurately show all existing and
all proposed buildings, structures, access roads, and utilities/utility
easements. All proposed land use activities, improvements to land, and/or
building modifications or additions are clearly labeled on the site plan of the
approved plan set. I understand that any potentially existing detail within
these plans inconsistent with the site plan are not approved and may be
required to be altered or removed. The submitted documents and plans show
the correct dimensions of the property, the buildings, and structures and their
setbacks from property lines and from one another, access roads/easements,
and utilities. The existing and proposed use of land and of each building as
stated is true and correct. Further, all improvements existing on the property

Hi Todd,
A frame signs are meant to be permitted on private and public property in the Village‐Barrio zone. One A‐frame sign is
allowed per business. I’ll accept the plans as they are, thank you. I’m attaching the invoice for the permit fees, payment
instructions are below:
Use our new ONLINE payment portal. You can submit your payment online with the following steps:
1. Go to online payment page: https://eg.carlsbadca.gov/payinvoice
2. Enter the 8‐digit Invoice number on the attached invoice and click the Search button.
The system will retrieve the invoice and display the details on the screen.
3. Click the Pay Now button
4. Enter your credit card information, including email address and click the Pay Now button.
Note – If you do not enter an email address, you will not receive a receipt.
5. You will receive a receipt to the email provided during the payment transaction
Or you can mail or drop off a paper check (with the invoice):

Thank you Corina,
I've made the corrections and attached a new Sign/Site plan and overhead map of parking and surrounding buildings.
I have indicated the measurements of the sign directly on the sign image as well.
Please note the other existing signs in the image... our neighbors' on either side (Blues and Shoes and Popular Nails), as
well as our own main overhead circular sign.
I hope this can satisfy the requirements.
Also, a quick question, if we place an a frame sign inside our property line, off of public right of way, then I assume we
do not need the sign permit? I see many businesses around the village doing this (inside their property line). Is this
also acceptable? We don't want any future violation so I'm just trying to learn the rules about promotional signage
when we have future specials, etc.

Please resubmit sign plans with a detailed site plan showcasing the intended sign placement distance from the property
line, location of existing buildings, parking areas and existing signs. Sign plans should also showcase sign measurements
directly on the sign images.
