The City will not issue a construction permit until you have read and Initialed your understanding of each

INSTRUCTIONS: Please read and initial each statement below to acknowledge your understanding and
venf1cat1on of this information by signature at the bottom of the form. These are very Important construction
related acknowledgments designed to inform the property owner of his/her obligations related to the requested
permit activities.
I. ~I understand a frequent practice of unlicensed contractors Is to have the property owner obtain an "Owner
Builder" building permit that erroneously implies that the property owner is providing his or her own labor and
material personally. I, as an Owner-Builder, may be held liable and subject to serious financial risk for any iniurles
sustained by an unlicensed contractor and his or her employees while working on my property. My homeowner's
insurance may not provide coverage for those injuries. I am willfully acting as an Owner Builder and am aware of
the limits of my insurance coverage for injuries to workers on my property.
II. .J~ .. 2. .. _I understand building permits are not required to be signed by property owners unless they are responsible
for the construction and are not hiring a licensed contractor to assume this responsibility.
Ill. 'r') I understand as an "Owner Builder" I am the responsible party of record on the permit. I understand that I
may protect myself from potential financial risk by hiring a licensed contractor and having the permit filed 1n his
or her name instead of my own.
IV. ~) I understand contractors are required by law to be licensed and bonded in California and to list their license

3. The window looks to be 2'x1 ', as shown on the window schedule. There was no
indication of mechanical ventilation on plans yet, therefore this correction
applies. Water closet compartments shall be provided with aggregate glazing area
in windows of not less than 3 square feet, one-half of which must be openable
(unless mechanical ventilation is provided). Section R303.3.
STRUCTURAL
4 . Please provide strapping to connect the room addition to the existing framing
to transfer seismic and lateral loads. Provide justification the seismic and lateral
connections of the new room addition to the existing framing are sufficient.

5. Please show the following requirement for the new bathroom: Show on the plans
a wall receptacle within 36" of each lavatory in the bathroom. CEC 210.52(0).

b) Light sources that are not marked "JAB-2019-E" shall not be installed in

47. In bathrooms, garages, laundry rooms, and utility rooms at least one luminaire shall
be controlled by a vacancy sensor.
48. Dimmers or vacancy sensors shall control all LED style luminaires. Two exceptions:
