The adoption of this document is necessary to make certain density factors in the General Plan more workable and more in line with existing land values. Also, in some cases, this will provide a density factor to utilize newly adopted density-type zoning ordinances and insure more orderly growth. ' l 2 3 • • PLANNING COMMISSION RESOLUTION N0.676 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMI56ION Of TffE CITY Of CARLS~AD RECOMMENDING TO CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION OF LAND USE AMENDMENT NO. 1, AN AMENDMENT TO THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN The Carlsbad City Planning Commission of the City of Carlsbad 4 does hereby resolve as follows: 5 WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did on the 25th day of 6 August, 1970 adopt Resolution of Intention No. 71 to amend the 7 General Plan by adopting Land Use Amendment No. 1, and 8 WHEREAS, said Planning Commission did on the 22nd day of g ~eptember, 1970 hold a duly advertised public hearing as prescribed 10 ~• law, to consider an Amendment to The General Plan by adding said 11 mendment, to read as follows: 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 "Adopting Land Use Amendment No. 1, entitled "An Amendment to the Land Use Element of the City of Carlsbad General Plan specifying Residential Density", as prepared by the City of Carlsbad Planning Department, dated April 14, 1970(revised August 20, 1970), designating certain areas West of the A.T.&S.F. Railroad, between Buena Vista Lagoon and Agua Hedionda Lagoon as Low-Medium Density, 0 to 30 Dwelling Units Per Net Acre; Medium Density, 0 to 50 Dwelling Units Per Net Acre; and High Density, 0 to 70 Dwelling Units Per Net Acre." 22 WHEREAS, at said public hearing the said Planning Commission 23 eceived the recommendations, objections, protests and comments of 24 11 individuals and parties who desired to be heard; 25 WHEREAS, said Planning Commission did find the following facts 26 nd reasons to exist which make said Amendment necessary to carry out ·27 he intent of The General Plan: 28 1 · 29 2. 30 31 X 32 This Amendment is necessary to implement current City planning and future development of this area. AND FINALLY RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be for- warded to the City Council for its attention in the manner prescribe by law.
