Discussion
The Chair and Vice Chair are selected by the members of the advisory body. The Chair’s role is
to preserve order and decorum at all meetings of the advisory body, announce the advisory
body’s decisions and decide questions of order. The Chair is responsible for ensuring the
effectiveness of the group process. A good Chair balances moving the discussion forward
involving all members of the advisory body and by allowing for adequate public participation.
In the absence of the Chair, the Vice-Chair shall act at the presiding officer.
