IRRIGATION SPECIFICATIONS
IRRIGATION PLAN IS DIAGRAMMATIC ONLY REFER TO THE IRRIGATION LEGEND
AND DETAILS FOR EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATION.
ALL RISERS SHALL BE PVC. SCH. 80 AND ALL FITTINGS SHALL BE PVC. SCH. 40
UNLESS OTHERWISE INDICATED.
A. ALL CONTROL WIRE SHALL BE ANG-UF, #14 MIN. DIRECT-BURIAL TYPE .
B. All CONNECTIONS SHALL BE MADE WITH "PEN-TITE" CONNECTORS (OR
EQUAL).
C. ALL WIRES SHALL BE INSTALLED WITH TWO FEET OF EXCESS WIRE (COILED)
AT THE END OF EACH WIRE RUN.
D. RUN ONE EXTRA WIRE TO THE END OF EACH CIRCUIT.
E. CONTROL WIRES SHALL BE BUNDLED EVERY FIVE FEET AND PLACED
DI REC fl Y BENEATH THE MAIN LINE.
F. PROVIDE PVC. SLEEVING FOR WIRES UNDER All PAVED AREAS WIDER THAN
FOUR FEET, ANO THROUGH All MASONRY WALLS.
BACKFLOW PREVENTION DEVICES SHALL BE LOCATED AS SHOWN ON PLANS.
CHECK VALVES AND ANTI-DRAIN VALVES SHALL BE INSTALLED WHERE
INDICATED, AND WHERE NECESSARY TO PREVENT WATER FLOW FROM LOWER
ELEVATION SPRIINKLER HFADS WHEN IRnlGATION SYSTEM IS TURNED OFF.
All PRESSURE MAINLINES SHALL BE BURIED EIGHTEEN(18) INCHES DEEP, ANO
All LATERAL PIPING SHALL BE BURIED TWELVE (12) INCHES DEEP, UNLESS
OTHERWISE INDICATED. IN THE EVENT OF BACKFILL SEffiEMENT, THE
IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR SHALL PERFORM REQUIRED REPAIRS AT HIS OWN
COST.
ALL MAINLINE AND LATERAL LINES SHALL BE S~EEVED WITH PVC. SCH. 40 PIPE
TWICE THE DIAMETER OF THE SLEEVED LINE WHERE IT PASSES UNDER PAVED
AREAS WIDER THAN 4 FEET, AND WHERE SHOWN ON PLANS.
120 VOLT SERVIICE TO THE AUTOMATIC IRRIGATION CONTROLLER SHALL BE
PROVIDED BY THE OWNER. IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR SHALL SLEEVE CONTROL
WIRES IN ELECTRICAL CONDUIT FROM THE CONTROLLER TO THE MAINLINE.
PRIOR TO BACKFILLING IRRIGATION TRENCHES:
A. All MAINLINES IN THE SYSTEM SHALL BE CAPPED AND PRESSURE TESTED
AT 150 P.S.I. FOIR A PERIOD OF FOUR HOURS. ANY LEAKS FOUND SHALL BE
CORRECTED BY REMOVING AND REPLACING THE LE'.AKING PIPE OR FITTINGS.AND
INSfALUNG NEW MATERIAL IN ITS PLACE.
B. All LATERALS SHALL BE PRESSURE TESTED AT DESIGN PRESSURE FOR
ONE H0UR.
C. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOT ALLOW OR CAUSE ANY OF HIS WORK TO BE
COVERED UNTIIL IT HAS BEEN INSPECTED, TESTED, AND APPROVED BY THE
OWNER0S AUTHIORIZED REPRESENTATIVE.
IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR SHALL ADJUST ALL SPRINKLER HEADS TO PROVIDE
AN EVEN COVEIRAGE ANO TO KEEP SPRAY OFF OF BUILDINGS, WALLS, WALKS,
AND DRIVES.
WHEN THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM IS COMPLETED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL, IN THE
PRESENCE OF THE OWNER'S AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE PERFORM A
COVERAGE TEST OF WATER AFFORDED THE PLANTING AREAS TO INSURE IT IS
COMPLETE AND ADEQUATE. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH ALL
MATERIALS AND PERFORM ALL WORK REQUIRED TO CORRECT ANY
INADEQUACIES OF COVERAGE AT HIS OWN COST.
THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH TO THE OWNER A COMPLETE SET OF "AS-
BUIL l' DRAWINGS ON SEPIA, AND TWO BLUELINE PRINTS, SHOWING EXACT
LOCATIONS OF ALL ITEMS INSTALLED. THESE ARE TO BE DELIVERED ON OR
BEFORE FINAL 'INSPECTION.
A REDUCED IRRIGATION PLAN INDICATING All IRRIGATION SYSTEMS AND THEIR
APPROPRIATE SEQUENCED CONTROL VALVE SHALL BE LAMINATED IN MYLAR
AND MOUNTED ON THE INSIDE COVER OF EACH IRRIGATION CONTROLLER.
IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR SHALL MAINTAIN THE IRRIGATION SYSTEM FOR A.
PERIOD OF SIXTY (60) DAYS AFTER PRE-MAINTENANCE WALK-THAU, AND SHALL
WATER ON A DAILY BASIS.
IRRIGATION CONTRACTOR SHALL GUARANTEE THE ENTIRE IRRIGATION SYSTEM
