This compact, cost effec- tive, intelligent addressable control panel has an extensive list of powerful features. While the MS-9200UDLS may be used with an SLC configured in the CLIP (Classic Loop Interface Protocol) mode, it can also operate in LiteSpeed™ mode--Fire•Lite's latest polling technol- ogy--for a quicker device response time. LiteSpeed's patented technology polls 1 o devices at a time. This improvement allows a fully-loaded panel with up to 198 devices to report an inci- dent and activate the notification circuits in under 1 o seconds. With Litespeed polling, devices can be wired on standard twisted, unshielded wire up to a distance of 10,000 feet. (Consult the wire table on page 3 for specific installation instructions.) The MS-9200UDLS's quick-remove chassis protects the elec- tronics during construction. The backbox can be installed allowing field wiring to be pulled. When construction is com- pleted, the electronics can be quickly installed with just two bolts. Available accessories include LED, graphic and LCD annunci- ators, and reverse polarity/city box transmitter. The panel is programmed through the FACP's keypad or via a standard PS-2 computer keyboard, which can be plugged directly into the printed circuit board. This permits easy typing of address labels and other programming information. NOTE: Unless otherwise specified, the term MS-9200UDLS is used in this document to refer to both the MS-9200UDLS and the MS-9200UDLS(E) FACPs (Fire Alarm Control Panels). FEATURES Aesthetically pleasing, highly visible, dual-action design. • Meets ADA 5 lb. maximum pull force. Easily operated (dual-action). Attractive shape and textured finish. • Mounts, semi-flush, to a standard single-gang (2.125" [5.3975 cm] minimum depth), double-gang, or 4" (10.16 cm) square electrical box. • When the handle latches in down position, the word "AC- TIVATED" appears at the top of the handle in bright yel- low to clearly indicate the station has been operated. • Key/lock reset; needs only a 1/4-turn to lock/unlock. • Includes Braille text on station handle. • Captive screw terminals wire-ready for easy connection to SLC loop (accepts up to 12 AWG/3.25 mm2 wire). Optional trim ring (BG-TR). • Meets UL 38, Standard for Manually Actuated Signaling Boxes. • Maintenance personnel can open station (for inspection and testing) without causing an alarm condition. • Built-in bicolor LED, which is visible through the handle of the station, flashes red in normal operation and latches on steady red when in alarm. CONSTRUCTION Shell, door, and handle are molded of durable LEXAN® (or polycarbonate equivalent) with a textured finish. OPERATION Pushing in, then pulling down on the handle causes it to latch in the down/activated position. Once latched, the word "ACTIVATED" (in bright yellow) appears at the top of the handle, while a portion of the handle protrudes from the bottom of the station. To reset the station, simply unlock the station with the key and pull the door open. This action resets the handle; closing the door automatically resets the switch. SD355(T) plug-in, low-profile smoke detectors are designed to commercial standards and offer an attractive appear- ance. LEXAN® is a registered trademark of GE Plastics, a subsidiary of General Electric Company. INSTALLATION SD350(T) plug-in detectors use a detachable mounting base to simplify installation, service and maintenance. Mount base on box which is at least 1.5 inches (3.81 cm) deep. Suitable boxes include: • 4.0" (10.16 cm) square box with plaster ring. • 4.0" (10.16 cm) octagonal box. • 3.5" (8.89 cm) octagonal box. • Single-gang box. NOTE: Because of the inherent supervision provided by the SLC loop, end-of-line resistors are not required. Wiring •r-taps• or branches are permitted for Style 4 (Class B) wiring only. OPERATION Each SD355(T) uses one of 99 possible addresses on the MS-9200 and MS-9200UD Signaling Line Circuit (SLC), or up to 318 (159 on each loop) on the MS-9600 SLC. It re- sponds to regular polls from the system and reports its type and status. The SD355(T) addressable photoelectric sensor's unique unipolar chamber responds quickly and uniformly to a broad range of smoke conditions and can withstand wind gusts up to 1,500 feet-per-minute (7.6 m/sec.) without sending an alarm level signal. Because of its unipolar chamber, the SD355(T) is approximately two times more responsive than most photoelectric sensors. This makes it a more stable detector. DETECTOR SENSITIVITY TEST Each detector can have their sensitivity tested (required per NFPA 72, Chapter 7 on Inspection, Testing and Main- tenance) when installed/connected to an MS-9200, MS- 9200UD, or MS-9600 addressable fire alarm control panel. The results of the sensitivity test can be printed off the MS- 9200, MS-9200UD, or MS-9600 for record keeping. SPECIFICATIONS Voltage range: 15 -32 VDC (peak). Standby current: 300 µA@ 24 VDC. AREND, Senior Deputy Program Manager Listing Expires June 30, 2007 D350PL(A), D350RPL(A) Intelligent Low-Flow Photoelectric Duct Smoke Detectors General Fire•Lite D350PL(A) and D350RPL(A) Intelligent Photoelectric Smoke Duct Detectors provide low-flow technology that enables duct smoke detection throughout a broad range of air- flow environments in HVAC applications. The low-flow technol- ogy can detect smoke at air speed velocities of 100 feet per minute (0.5 m/sec) or greater, while continuing the same reliable performance to 4,000 feet per minute (20.32 m/sec). The intelli- gent low-flow duct detectors sample air currents passing through a duct and gives dependable performance for shutdown of fans, blowers, and air conditioning systems, preventing the spread of toxic smoke an fire gases through the protected area. D350PL(A) and D350RPL(A) are compatible with all Fire•Lite addressable panels. D350PL(A) and D350RPL(A) provide a remote alarm output for use with auxiliary devices, such as the RA400Z(A) remote LED annunciator, as well as remote test capability with the RTS451 (A) or RTS451 KEY(A) Remote Test Stations. Applications Duct smoke detectors have specific limitations, they are: • NOT a substitute for open area smoke detectors. NOT a substitute for early warning detection. NOT a replacement for a building's regular fire detection sys- tem. Please call Fire•Lite for a copy of System Sensor's application guide, Proper Use of Smoke Detectors in Duct Applications, (A05-1004-00). Features Air velocity rating from 100 to 4,000 feet per minute (0.5 to 20.32 m/sec). Patented telescopic sampling tube. • Easily accessible code wheels for addressing detector. Outside mounting tabs. • Mounts to round or rectangular ducts from 1' to 12' (0.3 to 3.7 meters) wide. Transparent cover for convenient visual inspection. Addressability allows the CMF to be acti- vated, either manually or through panel programming, on a select (zone or area of coverage) basis. CRF-300 Relay Module (Replaces C304 configured as a relay) The CRF-300 Addressable Relay Module provides the MS-9200, MS-9200UD, and MS-9600 systems with two isolated sets of Form-C dry-contact outputs for activating a variety of auxiliary devices, such as fans, dampers, door holders, control equipment, etc. Addressability allows the dry contact to be activated, either manually or through panel programming, on a select basis. FEATURES Built-in type identification automatically identifies these devices to the control panel. • Internal circuitry and relay powered directly by two-wire SLC loop. The CMF module requires power (for horns, strobes, etc.). • Integral LED "blinks" green each time a communication is received from the control panel and turns on in steady red when activated. High noise immunity (EMF/RFI). • The CMF may be used to switch 24-volt NAC power. Wide viewing angle of LED. SEMS screws with clamping plates for wiring ease. • Direct Decade 01-99 (MS-9200/MS-9200UD) and 01- 159 (MS-9600) entry of address. APPLICATIONS The CMF is used to switch 24 VDC audible/visual power. The CRF may be programmed to operate dry contacts for door holders, Air Handling Unit shutdown, etc. CONSTRUCTION • The face plate is made of off-white Noryl®. • Controls include two rotary switches for direct-dial entry of address (01-99 on the MS-9200, MS-9200UD, and 01 - 159 on the MS-9600). It responds to regular polls from the control panel and reports its type and status. including the open/normal/ short status of its Notification Appliance Circuit (NAC). The LED blinks with each poll received. On command, it acti- vates its internal relay. The CMF supervises Class B (Style Y) or Class A (Style Z) notification or control circuits. Upon code command from the panel, the CMF will discon- nect the supervision and connect the external power sup- ply in the proper polarity across the load device. The dis- connection of the supervision provides a positive indica- tion to the panel that the control relay actually turned ON. The external power supply is always relay isolated from the communication loop so that a trouble condition on the external power supply will never interfere with the rest of the system. Rotary switches set a unique address for each module. The address may be set before or after mounting. The built-in TYPE CODE (not settable) will identify the module to the control panel, so as to differentiate between a mod- ule and a sensor address. The horn/strobe com- bination products are factory-assembled with jumper wires for in- tandem operation. For independent wiring of horn and strobe, re- move jumper wires. When wired for independent operation, the strobe will continue to run while the horn can be silenced. How- ever, the strobe must be running for horn to operate. Horns -The SpectrAlert Series horns and horn/strobes pro- vide two different field-selectable/reversible tones, a high-low field- selectable/reversible sound output setting (low setting on 24-volt models only) and a field-selectable/reversible temp 3 pattern or non-temporal continuous pattern. These field-selectable features are accomplished using pins and jumpers located on the back of each SpectrAlert horn and horn/strobe. An accessory module is not needed to make these field selections. The horn on horn/strobe models will operate on a coded power supply. Those horn-only models with "HC" In their part numbers wllf also operate on a coded power supply. The horn and horn/strobe series includes weatherproof models. Strobes -The ADA-compliant SpectrAlert strobes are elec- tronic visible warning signals that flash at 1 Hz over their operating voltage range. These products are available in 24-volt models at 15, 15/75, 75 and 11 O candela intensities and in 12-volt models at 15 and 15/75 candela intensities. The strobe series includes weath- erproof models. SpectrAlert products feature dramatic reductions in current requirements. Sync•Circuit Module (MDL) -The Sync•Circuit Mod- ule is available for synchronization of strobes and horns and can synchronize two Style Y (class B) circuits or one Style Z (class A) circuit. The module can also generate a synchronized temp 3 tone for System Sensor's Multi-Alert™ and PA400 horn products: The synchronization module allows the SpectrAlert horns on combina- tion horn/strobes to be silenced on two-wire systems. SpectrAlert's Sync•Circuit Module can be daisy-chained for multiple zone syn- chronization. The module does not operate on a coded power sup- ply. "For Multi-Alert and PA400: Strobes must be wired to a continuous source of power {non-coded power supply). Mount the OSYSU loosely with the carriage bolts and clamp bar supplied. 3. Loosen the locking screw that holds the trip rod in place and adjust the rod length (~e Fig. 4). When adjusted properly, the rod should extend past the valve screw, but not so far that it contacts the clamp bar. Tighten the locking screw to hold the trip rod in place. NOTE: If trip rod length is excessive, loosen the lockingscrew and remove the trip rod from the trip lever. Using pliers, break off the one I" (25mm) long notched section (see Fig. 5). Reinstall trip rod and repeat Step 3 procedure. 4. Mark the valve stem at the center of the trip rod. 5. Remove the OSYSU. File a 1/8" (3,2mm) deep groove centered on the mark of the valve stem utilizing a 3/8" (9,5mm) round, CARRIAGE BOLTS (2 REQUIRED) YOKE VALVE STEM TRIP ROD non-tapered file. Round and smooth the edges of the groove to prevent damage to the valve packing and to allow the trip rod to move easily in and out of the groove as the valve is operated. 6. Mount the OSYSU loosely with the trip rod centered in groove. 7. Final adjustment is made by loosening 2 screws (see Fig. 2) and sliding the OSYSU on the bracket. Adjustment is correct when switches are not activated with the trip rod seated in the valve stem groove and that the switches activate within one turn when the valve is operated from the FULL OPEN towards the CLOSED position. 8. Tighten the adjustment screws and mounting hardware. Check to insure that the rod moves out of the groove easily and that the switches activate within one turn when the valve is operated from the FU LL OPEN towards the CLOSED position. NOTE: CLOSE THE VALVE FULLY TO DETERMINE THAT THE STEM THREADS DO NOT ACTIVATE THE SWITCH. THE SWITCI-I BEING ACTIVATED BY THE STEM THREADS COULD RESULT IN A FALSE VALVE OPEN INDICATION.
