of filled ground placed on certain areas of Lots 207 to 237, inclusive, 239, 243, 246 to 248,

The final results of tests aoo observations indicate that the compacted filled ground has baen
placed at 90 percent of the maximum dry density or greater. It has been determined that the
fill materials, compacted to 90 percent of the max imum dry density, have a safe bearl~ value
of at least 2000 pouoos per square foot for one foot wide continuous footi~s founded at a
minimum depth and placed five feet or more inside the top of compacted filled ground slopes.

torily support one or two story wood frame dwelli~s designed for the recommended bori~ ..
value, without detrimental settlements.
In our report of the orlglnal investigation conducted at this subdivision, (Project No. 69-3-24BC
dated May 22, 1969), we stated that some "expansive" soils existed on the site ard if they were
allowed to remain in the upper 3 feet below finished grade some of the lots would require
specially designed footi~s and slabs. We furth er stated that these lots would be 1-isted upon the
completion of grodi~. The lots where expansive soils were observed to remain within the upper
3 feet, ore tabulated as follows:
Type A: Lo ts 219, 220, 250 ard 251.
Type B: Lob 221 to 224 i nclusl Ve 229, 231 and 232, and 248 'and 249.
It is recommended that the follow!~ special design precautions be taken for the houses to be
constructed on the above-listed lots:
Type A Lots
1. Isolated interior piers should not be used, ContiNJous footings should be used
throughout, and these should be placed at a minimum depth of two feet below the
lowest adjacent exte rior final ground surface.
2. Reinforce and interconnect continuously with steel bars all interior and exterior
footl~s with two 114 bars at 3 inches above th e bottom of all footi~s and two 114
bars placed 1 1;1 inches below the top of the stems of the footi rgs.
3. Use raised wood floors that span between continuous footings, or reinforce all 1
concrete slabs with 6 x 6 -10/10 woven wire fabric and pri v ide a minimum of
4 inches of clean sand beneath al I concrete slabs. Provide a moisture barrier
2 inches below slabs under llvlr(} areas.
4. Separate garage slabs from perir:neter footings by 1/2 Inch thickness of construc-
tion felt or equlvalent, to allow independent movement of garage slabs relative
to pert meter foot I 1"(1S.

with the two followlrG exceptions:
1. The continuous footirgs may be placed at a minimum depth of 18 Inches below
the lowest adjacent exterior final ground surface rather than the two feet
recommended for Type A lots.
2. Sirgle #4 bars placed as directed (above) near tops and bottoms of all Interior
and exterior footirgs may be substituted for the two #4 bars recommended for
Type A lots.

The application must be signed by the owner (or his authorized representative) of the
property to be served. The total charges must be paid to the District at the time the
application is submitted.
If a service lateral is required, it will be installed by the Leucadia County Water
District. The service lateral is that part of the sewer system that extends. froin the
main collection line in the street (or easement) to the point in the street (at or near
the applicant's property line) where the service lateral is connected to the applicant's
building sewer. The applicant, is responsible for the construction, at the applicant,s
expense, of the sewer pipeline (building sewer) from the applicant's plumbing to the
point in the street (or easement) where a connection is made to the service lateral.
The connection of the applicant's building sewer to the service lateral shall be made
by the applicant at his expense. The connection must be made in conformity with the
District's specifications, rules and regulations; and IT MUST BE INSPECTED AND APPROVED
BY THE DISTRICT BEFORE THE SEWER SYSTEM HAY BE USED BY THE APPLICANT. THE APPLICANT, OR
HIS AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE, MUST NOTIFY THE DISTRICT AT THE TIME INSPECTION IS DESIRED.
ANY CONNECTION MADE TO THE SERVICE LATERAL OR COLLECTION LINE WITHOUT PRIOR APPROVAL AND
INSPECTION BY THE DISTRICT WILL BE CONSIDERED INVALiD AND WILL NOT BE ACKNOWLEDGED.
