Full Line Sch-40 Replacement
Dyna-Thread' offers the life expectancy of Sch40 with superior hydraulics and greater value.
Dyna-Thread sprinkler pipe represents an engineering advancement for the sprinkler pipe industry. It combines the safety
and longevity of traditional Sch-40 pipe with quality and superior hydraulic advantages.
Dyna-Thread's inside diameter is up
to 3.6% larger than Sch-40 giving it
superior hydraulics. And, when used
in combination with Dyna-Flow pipe,
down sizing often occurs.
Dyna-Thread is fully listed and
approved by UL, ULC, and FM for
fire sprinkler applications.
The life expectancy of Dyna-Thread
and Sch40 are equal based on the
calculated wall thicknesses per UL.
The consistent quality of steel used to
make Dyna-Thread facilitates smooth
threading and lower maintenance
costs.
The exterior of Dyna-Thread is
protected by a clean, durable mill
coating for extended shelf life and
easy paint application.

With its increased strength and lighter
weight, Dyna-Thread reduces
installation fatigue and is ideal for
retro-fit applications.
the estimated life expectancy of a pipe
joint. This is based on the calculated
wall thickness at the base of the first
exposed thread, assumed to be the
weakest point of the pipe length. Dyna-
Thread and Sch-40 have the same
calculated wall thicknesses at this point
and are both assigned the same CRIR of
1.00.
The internal surface of all black Allied
Tube & Conduit Fire Sprinkler pipe
products up to 4.5000" in diameter is
coated with our new Antibacterial
Formula, "ABF". In scientific laboratory
test, ABS proved to have superior
resistance to microbial colonization of
pipe walls, thereby delaying or possibly
preventing the onset of
Microbiologically Influenced corrosion
(MlC) when the First Sprinkler System
is first installed.
More wall thickness at the thread
(CRR=l .00) gives Dyna-Thread
better life expectancy than light-wall
threadable pipe joints.
warning.
Dyna-Thread is approved for
standard hanger spacing (15 ft.
O.C.), can be used as earthquake
sway bracing, and is safe to use as
drops.
Dyna-Thread is safer to weld on.
Dyna-Thread is more widely
accepted than lightwall threadable
where Sch-40 is specified.
Super 40fDyna-Thread pipe is
manufactured to meet: ASTM A-13 5,
Grade A and is in compliance with
NFPA-13. All sizes of Super 40/Dyna-
Thread are rated at 300 psi working
pressure. Super 40/Dyna-Thread is UL
and ULC Listed for wet, dry deluge and
pre-action sprinkler systems and FM
Approved for use in wet systems. Super
40/Dyna-Thread can be "hot-dip"
galvanized to meet FM requirement for
dry systems. Super 40/Dyna-Thread is
approved for all threaded couplings and
welded outlets and is suitable for all
roll-grooved, and plain-end fittings.

DynamFlowe
High Strength Steel Pipe
The original high-strength lightwall sprinkler pipe with hydraulics superior to Schedule-10.
Dyna-Flow pipe is the "original" high-
strength lightwall sprinkler pipe. Dyna-
Flow has outstanding hydraulic
capabilities and is recognized as the
most popular alternative to Schedule-10
pipe. Lightweight, easy to cut and easy
to handle for installation. Dyna-Flow is a
valuable addition to any fire protection
system.
With an inside diameter of up to 11%
larger than Schedule-40 and up to 7%
larger than Schedule-10, Dyna-Flow
pipe hydraulics are exceptional. Larger
l.D.s enable Dyna-Flow, and related
components, to be down-sized within the
system, thus increasing the potential for
job cost savings. For complete Hazen-
Williams charts, refer to "Dyna-Flow
Hydraulic Data Tables?'

Application
The Reliable Model G4A
Concealer® is the most versatile
quick response concealed sprin-
kler available. It provides the best
form of fire protection while
offering an attractive appearance
and ½" (13mm) of cover adjust-
ment for ease of installation. The
small diameter cover plate as-
sembly is easily attached and
blends into the ceiling, concealing
the most dependable fire protec-
tion available, an automatic
sprinkler system.
The Model G4A Concealer® is designed for use where
aesthetic appearance is important. Offices, hospitals, motels
and restaurants are but a few of the applications where it can be
used. It is available in different orifice sizes allowing the designer
to optimize system performance, thereby achieving a very
efficient installation.
The Model G4A Concealer® is a UL Listed Quick Response
Concealed sprinkler intended for use in accordance with NFPA
13. FM Approves this sprinkler as a standard response
concealed sprinkler intended for use in accordance with FM
Loss Prevention Data Sheet 2-8N.
Product Description
The Reliable Model G4A Concealer® uses a proven quick re-
sponse fusible element in a standard style sprinkler frame with a
drop-down deflector. This assembly is recessed into the ceiling
and concealed by a flat cover plate assembly. The threaded
engagement provides ½" (13mm) of cover adjustment. The flat
cover plate is attached to the skirt using either 135°F (57°C) or
165°F (74°C) ordinary temperature classification solder.
When the ceiling temperature rises, the solder holding the flat
cover plate melts, the flat cover plate released thus exposing
the sprinkler inside to the rising ambient temperature.
The subsequent fusing of the element opens the waterway
and causes the deflector to distribute the water. Any secure
engagement between the cover plate and cup will assure that
the drop-down deflector is properly located below the ceiling.

Cut a 2/ inch (67mm) diameter hole is cut in the ceiling, the
sprinkler is easily installed with the Model G4 Wrench. The
wrench has drive tangs which insert into the cup slots.
When installing a sprinkler the wrench is first positioned into
the sprinkler/cup assembly until the wrench tangs engage
the drive slots in the top of the cup (there are two sets of
drive slots in the cup). The sprinkler is then tightened into
the pipe fitting. When inserting or removing the wrench from
the sprinkler/cup assembly, care should betaken to prevent
damage to the sprinkler. DO NOT WRENCH ON ANY
OTHER PART OF THE SPRINKLER/CUP ASSEMBLY.
Install the cover plate by hand turning the cover in the
clockwise direction until it is tight against the ceiling.
A protective cap is provided to protect the drop-down sprinkler
deflector from damage which could occur during construction
before the cover plate is installed. The cap is factory installed
inside the sprinkler cup. Remove cap to install sprinkler, then
re-install cap until the cover plate is installed.
Maintenance
The Model G4A Concea145 should be inspected quarterly
and the sprinkler system maintained in accordance with NFPA
25. Do not clean sprinklers with soap and water, ammonia or any
other cleaning fluids. Remove any sprinkler that has been
painted (other than factory applied) or damaged in any way. A
stock of spare sprinklers should be maintained to allow quick
replacement of damaged or operated sprinklers. Prior to
installation, sprinklers should be maintained in the original
cartons and packaging to minimize the potential for damage to
sprinklers that would cause improper operation or non-operation.

DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION CONVENTIONAL (OLD STYLE)
The Globe Quick Response GL Series Sprinklers are a low
profile yet durable design which utilizes a 3mm frangible glass ampule
as the thermosensitive element. This provides sprinkler operation
approximately six times faster than ordinary sprinklers. While the Quick
Response Sprinkler provides an aesthetically pleasing appearance, it
can be installed wherever standard spray sprinklers are specified when 1W
/
allowed by the applicable standards. It offers the additional feature of
greatly increased safety to life and is available in various styles, orifices,
temperature ratings and finishes to meet many varying design require- r i
ments Quick Response Sprinklers should be used advisedly and under
the direction of approving authorities having jurisdiction.
The heart of Globe's GL Series sprinkler proven actuating QUICK RESPONSE
assembly is a hermetically sealed frangible glass ampule that contains UPRIGHT CONVENTIONAL
a precisely measured amount of fluid. When heat is absorbed, the liquid
within the bulb expands increasing the internal pressure. At the
prescribed temperature the internal pressure within the ampule exceeds •••s
the strength of the glass causing the glass to shatter. This results in
water discharge which is distributed in an approved pattern depending L
upon the deflector style used.
The sprinkler and escutcheon are not factory assembled. As-
sembly is done in the field.

DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION
The Globe Quick Response GL Series Sprinkler is a low profile
yet durable design which utilizes a 3mm frangible glass ampule as
the thermosensitive element. This provides sprinkler operation
approximately six times faster than ordinary sprinklers. While the
Quick Response Sprinkler provides an aesthetically pleasing ap-
pearance, it can be installed wherever standard spray sprinklers
are specified but offers the additional feature of greatly increased
safety to life. Quick Response Sprinklers should be used advisedly
and under the direction of approving authorities having jurisdiction.
The heart of Globe's GL Series sprinkler proven actuating
assembly is a hermetically sealed frangible glass ampule that
contains a precisely measured amount of fluid. When heat is
absorbed, the liquid within the bulb expands increasing the internal
pressure. At the prescribed temperature the internal pressure
within the ampule exceeds the strength of the glass causing the
glass to shatter. This results in water discharge which is distributed
in an approved pattern depending upon the deflector style used.
The sprinkler and escutcheon are not factory assembled.
Assembly is done in the field.
