Receive a presentation from a representative of the City of Carlsbad’s Police Department that
will provide an overview of traffic and mobility-related police matters during the month of
October 2023, including notable news for the month of November.
Fiscal Analysis
This action has no fiscal impact.
Environmental Evaluation
In keeping with California Public Resources Code Section 21065, this action does not constitute
a “project” within the meaning of the California Environmental Quality Act in that it has no
potential to cause either a direct physical change in the environment, or a reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment. Therefore, it does not require
environmental review.
Public Notification and Outreach
This item was noticed in keeping with the Ralph M. Brown Act and it was available for public
viewing and review at least 72 hours before the scheduled meeting date.

NOVEMBER NOTABLE NEWS
•On 11/15/2023 at 1553, a Tesla traveling eastbound on La Costa, east
of ECR, crossed into the westbound lanes and collided with two other
vehicles. The Tesla driver sustained major injuries.
•OTS Traffic Safety Summit – The City was presented with an award
recognizing the great work with e-bike safety and education
