Dear Mr. Arnold:
As requested, this letter presents our responses to the review comments presented in the
referenced Hetherington Engineering, Inc. review document.
The review comments are presented in order from the review document, with our
responses following each comment.
The Consultant should review the project grading and foundation plans, provide
any additional geotechnical recommendations considered necessary, and
confirm that the plans have been prepared in accordance with the geotechnical
recommendations.
Response: we will review the final versions of the project grading and
foundation plans when they are made available to us and confirm that they have been
prepared in accordance with our geotechnical recommendations.
The Consultant should address whether the site is considered a "Near Fault
Site" in accordance with Section 11.4.1 pfASCE 7-16.
Response: This issue is addressed in paragraph 2.04 on page 5 of the referenced
revised report.

The Consultant should provide the site Risk Category and Seismic Design
Category consistent with the 2019 California Building Code.
Response: This issue is addressed by paragraph 3.02 of the referenced revised
report.
The Consultant should provide a statement confirming that the foundation and
slab recommendations are consistent with the requirements of Section 1808.6
(expansive soils) of the 2019 California Building Code or revise the
recommendations accordingly.
