F3,1429726831 Cur. cellS. Vi. 22 Nov 2006 D7024 FireAlarm Control Panels The D7024 Fire Alarm Control Panels (FACPs) can be used in commercial and public building applications such as schools, universities, manufacturing plants, and health care facilities. They are listed by UL for central station, local, auxiliary, and remote station systems. The 07024 FACPs support four on-board initiating zones that can be expanded to eight using the 07034. Each initiating zone supports two-wire and four-wire detectors configurable as Class A, Style D (with 07014) or Class B, Style B loops. Each zone can support up to 20 two-wire detectors, or any number of four-wire detectors depending on available power. Each FACP has a built-in digital fire alarm communicator transmitter (DACT). Enhance the 07024 conventional system features when running version 2.02 or higher firmware by adding a D7039 Multiplex Expansion Module. Adding a D7039 Multiplex Expansion Module to the D7024 turns the conventional FACP into an addressable FACP. The 07039 adds up to 247 addressable points to the base system and adds an additional 400 events to the history buffer for a total of 499 events. The D7039 also increases the number of programmable relay outputs from 18 to 58 and allows up to 100 system users (an addition of 84 PINs to the base system). Four detector zones (expandable to eight); up to 20 two-wire smoke detectors per zone Built-in DACT Two notification appliance circuits (NACs) on board with an Internal 24 VFWR, 4 A NAC power supply Easily converts to addressable with the addition of a D7039 Multiplex Expansion Module Programmable through front panel interface, remote D7033 Liquid-crystal Display (LCD) Keypads, or remote programming software (RPS) Notification Appliance Circuits (NACs) Two on-board Class B, Style V or Class A, Style Z (with D7015) NACs provide up to 4 A of 24 VFWR power to operate horns, strobes, bells, and other notification appliances. Each NAC can be programmed to provide Temporal Code 3, steady, pulsed, and synchronized output for Wheelock'TM and Gentexl notification appliances. User Interface A viewing port in the keyed control panel enclosure door shows the system status light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and LCD display while maintaining system keypad security. Unlocking the enclosure door provides access to the system controls for silencing offnormal conditions, zone bypassing, detector resetting, testing, other fire functions, and programming. These functions are also available on all D7033 LCD Keypads connected to the system. All D7036 LCD Annunciators provide custom text annunciation on a 32-character, backlit, two-line LD display. All system keypads and annunciators have built-in sounders. Back-light intensity and sounder volume are programmable. www.boschsecurity.com Personal identification Numbers (PINs) There are 16 PINs available for accessing system control. Assign each number an authority level to limit access to the system control functions. Note The number of PINs increases to 100 with the addition of a 07039 Multiplex Expansion Module. History Buffer The system stores events in a 99-event history buffer. Note The number of events that can be stored in the history buffer increases to 499 with the addition of a D7039 Multiplex Expansion Module. Central Station Reporting The D7024 FACPs send reports to two telephone numbers with full single, double, and backup reporting. They communicate in BFSK. SIA, Contact ID, Modem lila2. and 4/2 and 3/1 Tone Bursts. Dirty Smoke Detector Monitoring All on-board zones and 07034 zones are continuously monitored for smoke detectors signaling a dirty condition using.the Bosch Chamber Check® feature and CleanMe® protocol. If a detector's smoke chamber is dirty, the detector sends a CleanMe' signal on the two-wire loop or a dirty detector signal on the addressable loop. The control panel annunciates that there is a dirty detector on the loop. or the address. The Chamber Check feature signals a dirty smoke chamber using the LED on the detector head. Accessories The 07024 enclosure has space for additional accessory modules and two D1218 (18 Ah) batteries or two 0126 (7 AN batteries. Each of the D263 Series Detector models is UL Listed and works with commercial fire protective signaling and household fire warning systems. Each model detcts smoke particles produced during wood, paper, and fabric combustion. The 0263 Series Detector models use an infrared (IR) LED light source and a silicon photodiode to measure light in a chamber. A fine screen covers the chamber to deter insects and to reduce dust accumulation and nuisance alarms. During a fire, smoke particles reflect light onto the photodiode. When the photodiode measurements exceed the alarm threshold, the detector signals an alarm condition. After the alarm condition clears, interrupt power at the control panel to reset the detector. 12 V or 24 V Input Designed for commercial or residential use " Two-wire application Light-emitting diodes (LEDs) indicate the status of the chamber, power, and alarm Removable terminal block to simplify wiring connections Cable connection point for voltmeter sensitivity test Trim Plate 1P280 for retrofit and remodeling purposes Use a 0132B Reversing Relay Module to activate the sounder (85 dB at lOft [3 m]). Visual check: When the detector's calibration is within the factory-listed range, the red alarm LED flashes once every 3.5 sec. If the detector's calibration is out of range for more than 24 h, the red alarm LED flashes once a second. Magnet test: Hold a magnet horizontally against the detector for about 10 sec and observe the LED. a If the detector is within tTactory-listed calibration range, It goes into alarm and the Alarm LED latches on. If the detector is too sensitive, the LED rapidly flashes six times (once every half second) and the detector goes into alarm. If the detector is not sensitive enough, the LED slowly flashes four times, once every 2 seconds, and the detector goes into alarm. If the detector does not operate, it does not signal an alarm. www.boschsecurity.com Voltage measurement test: Use a D1005 Test Cable and a digital voltmeter to measure the voltage and compare the results with the factory-listed sensitivity range. NOTE: Ifthe sprinkler system is in service the owner or authorized representative should be notified, before any work is done on the system, that the valve controlling the water supply to the system may be closed for periods of time during the installation and testing of this device, resulting in all or portions of the system being inoperative during these periods. If the system is not in service and valve is closed, be sure that opening the valve will not allow any unwanted water.flow due to openings in the system, such as heads off, broken or incomplete piping, etc. Position the valve to filly open ("OPEN" should appear in the window of the housing). Partially close the valve while observing the direction that the target assembly moves. Reopen the valve. lithe valve housing is predrilled with a 112" NPT for installation ofa monitoring switch, remove the 1/2' plug and filly open the valve. Make sure that "OPEN" appears in the window of the housing. GO TOS1'EPNO. 6. Remove the head and target assembly (consultation with valve manufacturer is recommended). If the target assembly moved up as the valve was closed, measure the distance from the bottom of the head to the lower part of the target assembly' that will contact the trip rod of the PCVS (see Fig. 3). This is usually a plate or baron the targetassembly, on aside adjacent to the"OPEN/SHUT" plates. Subtract 1/8' from the measurement. If the target moved down as the valve was closed, measure the distance from the bottom of the head to the upper portion of the target assembly that will contact the trip rod of the PCVS (see Fig.-4). Add 1/8' (3,2mm) to this measurement. Mark the housing at the proper location. Using a 23/32" (18,2mm) drill bit, drill and then tap 1/2' NPT in the housing on the side that coincides with the portion of the target assembly that will engage the trip rod of the PCVS. Replace the head and target assembly. Loosen the socket head screw that holds the nipple in the PCVS and remove the nipple. Screw the locknut that is provided onto the nipple. Screw the nipple into the 1/2" NPT hole in the valve housing. hand tighten. Tighten the locknut against the valve housing to secure the nipple firmly in place. Insert a scale or probe thru the nipple to measure the distance from the open end of the nipple to the target assembly. Subtract 1/2' (12,5mm) from this measurement. NOTE: In some cases, it may be necessary to attach an angle bracket to the target assembly to engage the PCVS trip rod. Using the special tool provided, loosen the two cover screws and remove the cover from the PCVS. II. Loosen the locking screw that holds the trip rod in place and adjust the rod length, from the end of the collar to the end of the rod, using the dimension determined in Step 9. Tighten the locking screw to hold the rod in place. NOTE: If trip rod length is excessive, loosen the locking screw and remove the trip rod from the trip lever. Using pliers, break off the one (I) inch long notched section (see Fig. 7). Reinstall trip rod and repeat Step II procedure. Partially close the valve (3 to 4 revolutions of the handle/hand wheel). Slide the PCVS unit as far as possible onto the nipple, observing which direction the rod will move when the valve is closed. Orient the device to actuate the switches when the valve is open. Tighten the socket head screw in the collar. Carefully open the valve to the fully open pOsition. As the target moves to the open position it should engage the trip rod and actuate the switch(es). There should be a minimum overtravel of 1/2 revolution of the handle/hand wheel after the switch(es) actuate (a continuity meter connected to each set of contacts is one method that could be used to determine this). Slowly close the valve. The switch must operate during the first two revolutions of the handle/hand wheel or during 1/5 of the travel distance of the valve control apparatus from its normal cdition. NOTE:' Small adjustments of the targt position may be necessary (consultation with valve manufacturer is recommended). Complete the required electrical wiring, connections and tests. The valve should be operated through the entire cycle of fully closed and fully open to determine the integrity of the PCVS installation and the signaling system. In this method, one of the glass windows of the housing is replaced with a 1/4" thick metal plate that is cut to fit in place of the glass and drilled and tapped to receive the 1/2" NPT pipe nipple. In some cases it may be necessary to attach an angle bracket to the target assembly to engage the PCVS trip rod. If the target is stationary and a hood arrangement is used, such as is shown in Fig. 6, the hood must be drilled with a 23/32" drill and tapped with a 1/2" NPT. The center line of this hole should be 1/8" below the portion of target assembly that strikes the PCVS trip rod. The 113/8" dimension shown is for a Clow Valve. Flexible conduit must be used for this type of installation. TYPICAL INSTALLATION ON A BUTTERFLY VALVE (SEE FIGS. 9 AND 10 Refer to Fig. 2 for location of parts described in the following instructions: B!. Remove the 1/2" NPT plug from the gear operator case. 87. Loosen the locking screw that holds the trip rod in place. Estimate trip rod length required and extend slightly past that point. Slide the PCVS unit as far as possible onto the nipple, observing which direction the rod will move when the valve is closed. Orient the device to actuate switches when valve is open. NOTE: If trip rod length is excessive, loosen the locking screw and remove the trip rod from the trip lever. Using pliers, break off the one (I) inch long notched section (see Fig. 7). Reinstall trip rod and repeat Step B? procedure. BS. Remove device from nipple and withdraw trip rod 1/32" (0,80mm) (this dimension is important). Tighten the locking screw to hold the rod in place. Re-install the device on the nipple. Tighten the screw in the collar against the nipple. NOTE: In some cases it may be necessary to remove the gear box cover to ensure correct operation (consultation with the valve manufacturer is recommended). Carefully open the valve to its full open position, as the boss on the gear hub moves to the open position it must engage the PCVS trip rod and actuate the switch(es). There should be a minimum overtravel or revolution of the crank or hand wheel after the switch(es) actuate (a continuity meter connected to each set of contacts is one method that could be used to determine this). NOTE: Slight adjustment of gear stops may be necessary to prevent overtravel of the trip rod (consultation with valve manufacture is recommended). 810. Carefully close the valve. The switch(es) must operate during the first two revolutions of the crank or hand wheel or during 1/5 of the travel distance of the valve control apparatus from its normal condition. Bli. Complete the required electrical wiring, connections and tests. The valve should be operated through the entire cycle of fully closed and fully open to determine the integrity of the PCVS installation and signaling system. Check that all electrical and mechanical connections are secure. B12. When the installation and testing are complete, return valve to its proper position. Loosen the set screw that holds the nipple in the PCVS and remove the nipple. Screw the locknut that is provided onto the nipple. Screw the nipple into the 1/2" NPT hole in the gear operator - hand tighten. B9. Tighten the locknut against the case, to secure the nipple firmly in place. Partially close the valve (3 or 4 revolutions of the hand wheel or crank). Using the special tool provided, loosen the two cover screws and remove the cover from the PCVS. As a photoelectric detector, it's ultra-responsive to the large smoke particles commonly found in duct systems. The DH1 OOACDCLP uses low-flow, technology to sense smoke in the lowest air speeds, from 100 to 4,000 feet per minute. When smoke is detected, all interconnected units will initiate their relays. However, to quickly locate the fire source, only the detector sensing smoke Will alarm. Two DPDT Form-C relay contacts, connected to auxiliary equipment, can also be configured to prevent the spread of smoke through a particular area. The DH1 OOACDCLP is simple to install and maintain. Powered by 24VAC/DC or 120/240VAC, it can be easily mounted to round and rectangular ducts, from one to twelve feet in width, with outside mounting tabs. It also offers an adjustable telescopic sampling tube that can be used for duct widths up to 18 inches. This tube locks into place - no additional tools are necessary. Its modular construction allows for easy cleaning and field replacement of the power and sensor boards. Also simplifying maintenance is a transparent cover that provides convenient visual inspection. If the cover is removed, a patented cover-tamper trouble signal gives a 7-minute delay before the panel or remote accessory is notified of trouble. At a remote location, the remote test station option ensures that a detector is functioning properly and the remote sounder/LED indicator option signals if a detector is inalarm. However, the cover does not need to be removed if a detector needs to be reset at the detector. Simply push the built-in reset button. Date Issued: JUNE 26, 2008 Listing Expires June 30, 2009 Authorized By: BEN HO, Chief Fire Engineering Division Series AS Audible Strobe Appliances and Series AH Audibles :J. _ SERIES AS SERIES AH Description The Wheelock patented 2-wire Series AS Audible Strobe Appliances and Series AH Audibles offer more features with low current draw. Strobe options for wall mount models include 15750d or the Wheelock patented MCW multi-candela wall strobes with field selectable candela settings of 151301751110cd, or the high intensity MCWH strobe with field selectable 135/185cd. Ceiling mount models incorporate Wheelock's patented MCC multi-candela ceiling strobe with field selectable intensities of 15/30175/95cd or the high intensity MCCH strobe with field selectable 115/177cd. The audible provides a selectable choice of either a continuous horn or temporal pattern (Code 3) when constant voltage from a Fire Alarm Panel (FACP) is applied. Each tone has 3 dBA settings to choose from. When used with the Wheelock Series SM,DSM Sync Modules, Wheelock Power Supplies or other manufacturers panels incorporating the Wheelock Patented Sync Protocol, synchronization of the continuous horn tone provides the temporal (code 3) tone (mandated by NFPA72) simultaneously for all audible appliances. This ensures a distinct temporal (code 3) pattern when 2 or more audibles are within hearing distance. If not synchronized the temporal sound could overlap and not be distinctive. At the same time the strobes will be synchronized. This provides the ability to comply with ADA guidelines concerning photosensitive epilepsy and the NFPA standards when installing 2 or more visual appliances within the field of view all of this plus the ability to silence the audible is achieved by using only 2 wire.
