1. THE KNOWN EXISTING BURIED UTILITIES AND PIPELINES ARE SHOWN ON THE DRAWINGS IN THEIR APPROXIMATE LOCATION. THERE IS NO
GUARANTEE THAT ALL EXISTING PIPELINES AND OBSTRUCTIONS ARE SHOWN OR THAT LOCATIONS INDICATED ARE ACCURATE. THE
CONTRACTOR SHALL "POTHOLE" TO DETERMINE THE ACTUAL LOCATION AND ELEVATION OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES CROSSING NEW
PIPELINES.
2. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, ALL PIPE SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM COVER OF 3'. VERTICAL SEPARATION BETWEEN THE NEW PIPELINE AND THEEXISTING UTILITIES SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 12-INCHES. ADDITIONAL SEPARATION REQUIREMENTS BETWEEN POTABLE WATER ANDNON-POTABLE LINES ARE PROVIDED IN SPEC SECTION 15050.3.01.B.
3. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSURING THAT ALL PIPELINES, VALVES AND FITTINGS ARE ADEQUATELY RESTRAINED AGAINST
JOINT SEPARATION. PROVIDE RESTRAINED JOINTS OR THRUST BLOCKS FOR ALL HORIZONTAL BENDS, WYES, AND BLIND FLANGES. PROVIDE
RESTRAINED JOINTS FOR ALL VERTICAL BENDS (SEE THRUST BLOCK DETAIL 5, SHEET M-3).
4. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR RESTORING ALL ITEMS DISTURBED DURING CONSTRUCTION BACK TO THEIR ORIGINAL OR BETTER
CONDITION, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO: CONCRETE FLATWORK AND ASPHALT PAVING.
5. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROVIDING AS-BUILT DRAWINGS AFTER COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT. THE ENGINEER WILLPROVIDE EXISTING DESIGN DRAWING FILES IN AUTOCAD FOR CONTRACTOR TO GENERATE AS-BUILT PIPELINE PLANS AND PROFILES.
6. ACCESS TO THE SITE SHALL BE RESTRICTED TO BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7:30AM-5:30PM. CONTRACTOR SHALL RESTRICT PROJECT WORK
TO WITHIN THE EXISTING LIFT STATION SITE UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN. CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE ARRANGEMENTS AT THEIR COST FOR
ANY WORK OUTSIDE THE PROPERTY LINES SHOWN.
7. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING ALL DIMENSIONS TO BOTH EXISTING AND NEW EQUIPMENT BEFORE ORDERING
MATERIALS, TO PROVIDE A COMPLETE WORKING SYSTEM. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE ENGINEER OF ANY MAJOR MODIFICATION
WHICH COULD IMPACT THE DESIGN INTENT.
8. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE CONTINUOUS ACCESS TO THE EXISTING FACILITIES DURING CONSTRUCTION.
9. VALVES SHALL BE SYSTEM B FOR WASTEWATER APPLICATION. VALVES SHALL BE SYSTEM I FOR COMPRESSED AIR APPLICATION.
10. THE EXISTING 4-INCH DIAMETER SURGE RELIEF VALVE AT THE POINSETTIA SEWAGE LIFT STATION SHALL BE SET TO OPEN WHEN THE
PRESSURE AT THE POINSETTIA SEWAGE LIFT STATION EXCEEDS 175 PSI (IN PLACE OF THE CURRENT 120 PSI SET POINT).
