HomeMy WebLinkAbout2024-07-16; City Council; Resolution 2024-171RESOLUTION NO. 2024-171 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CARLSBAD, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE USE OF THE SEWER REPLACEMENT FUND FOR THE CITY'S PORTION OF AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH PARTNERS IN CONTROL, INC., DBA ENTERPRISE AUTOMATION, FOR SYSTEM INTEGRATOR SERVICES FOR PHASE 1 OF THE PROJECT TO REPLACE THE WATER AND WASTEWATER SUPERVISORY CONTROL AND DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEMS WHEREAS, on Jan. 9, 2024, the Carlsbad Municipal Water District Board adopted Resolution No. 1726, authorizing a professional services agreement with Partners in Control, Inc., a California Corporation dba Enterprise Automation, or Enterprise Automation, for system integrator services for Phase 1 of the project to replace the water and wastewater supervisory control and data acquisition, or SCADA, systems; and WHEREAS, on Jan. 9, 2024, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 2024-005, authorizing the use of the Sewer Replacement Fund for the city's portion of the professional services agreement with Enterprise Automation; and WHEREAS, in March 2024, staff began working with Enterprise Automation on the project and work has been proceeding according to schedule; and WHEREAS, staff have identified tasks that were originally intended for Phase 2 of the project, or the construction phase, that could be performed by Enterprise Automation now; and WHEREAS, staff find that having Enterprise Automation perform the tasks will save time and reduce overall project costs; and WHEREAS, the CMWD Board authorized and directed the President to execute Amendment No. 1 to the agreement with Partners in Control, Inc., a California Corporation dba Enterprise Automation to provide additional system integrator services for the water and wastewater SCADA replacement project in an amount not to exceed $745,439; and WHEREAS, the city's pro-rata share of costs for the wastewater portion of the system integrator services for the water and wastewater SCADA replacement project is $126,725; and WHEREAS, sufficient funding is available in Capital Improvement Program Project No. 5542-1, Sewer Replacement Fund.
