REQUESTED ACTION: Consider adoption of a Traffic Safety Commission Resolution of
Commendation for Jairo Valderrama.
BACKGROUND:
DATA:
Commissioner Jairo Valderrama was appointed to the Traffic Safety Commission by the
City Council on May 5, 2009. He served on the Commission from June 2009 through July
2013. Commissioner Valderrama served as Chairperson from September 2012 to June
2013. Mr. Valderrama's term of service on the Traffic Safety Commission is ending due
to expiration of term limits.
In the past, the Traffic Safety Commission has honored each Commissioner that has
completed his/her appointment on the Commission with a Resolution of
Commendation. The attached commendation, if adopted, would honor Mr. Valderrama
for his service to the Traffic Safety Commission and is provided for Commission
consideration.
RECOMMENDATION:
Action to be taken as determined by the Traffic Safety Commission.
NECESSARY CITY COUNCIL ACTION:
No City Council action required.

Resolution of Commendation
is hereby granted to
JAIROVALDERRAMA
WHEREAS, Jairo Valderrama was appointed to the Traffic Safety Commission of the City of
Carlsbad, California on May 5, 2009; and
WHEREAS, Jairo Valderrama has served on the Traffic Safety Commission from June 2009
through July 2013 and has served as the Vice Chairperson and as the Chairperson of the
Commission; and
WHEREAS, the Traffic Safety Commission of the City of Carlsbad wishes to commend Jairo
Valderrama for his leadership as Chairperson and his earnest and faithful direction and
participation in traffic, bicycle and pedestrian safety, transportation planning, and traffic
operations matters that were brought before the Traffic Safety Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Traffic Safety Commission of the City of
Carlsbad does hereby acknowledge and extend its grateful appreciation to Jairo Valderrama for
having diligently served the citizens of Carlsbad as Chairperson of the Traffic Safety
Commission.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Traffic Safety Commission
held on the 9th day of September, 2013 by the following vote to wit:
