1. North arrow and scale.
2. Location of existing buildings or structures, parking areas, and vehicular access points to the
property.
3. Location of all existing and proposed signs for the property.
4. Distance to the property line(s) for all proposed freestanding sign(s).
5. Provide an elevation for all proposed sign(s) which specifies the following:
A. Dimensions and area for all existing and proposed sign(s).
B. Materials the sign(s) will be constructed of.
C. Source of Illumination.
D. Proposed sign copy.

APPLICATIONS
The following example illustrates the information that is required for all pole, monument, and
freestanding sign permit applications. Prior to approval, all such proposed signs must be reviewed
for potential issues by the Transportation Department, which will not allow signs to be approved
over the counter. Additional time will be required for on-site inspection.

Our license covers electrical sign Installation only and the following Is required for the Install,
to be provided by you and/or an electrical contractor you hire:
1. Dedicated 20 amp circuit for the sign
2. Breaker box must have the circuit for the sign labeled as "sign"
3. Breaker box must not have any blank or missing circuits
4. Breaker box and electrical room door must be open for access
5. Timer for the sign AND photo control (automatic); both must
be approved by California's Energy Commission

6. All sign-related junction boxes need to be in NEMA code compliant condition
7. Metal Clad (MC) Cable for the electrical connection, provided within 5' of where
the sign will be Installed -or In a specific place if needed and specified.
If electrical Is to be done underground for a monument, the electrical contractor
you hire must ensure it meets all city codes, and leave all conduit exposed from
connection at house power, to connection at sign, for Inspection with the sign.
Electrical contracior must be present during this Inspection.
ALL Items on the list are required to pass Inspection -please note #5 In regards to
equipment approval by CA Energy Commission.
