HomeMy WebLinkAboutAV 01-09; Kiko RV Variance; Administrative Variance (AV)- City of Carlsbad June 19,2001 Mr. Federick Kiko 3561 Donna Drive Carlsbad, CA 92008 SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR PERMISSION TO PARK A RECREATIONAL VEHICLE IN THE FRONT YARD SETBACK AT 3561 DONNA DRIVE The Planning Director has completed a review of your request to park a recreational vehicle in your front yard setback, pursuant to section 21.44.060 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code. After careful consideration of the ‘circumstances surrounding this request, the Planning Director has determined that the findings required for allowing the parking of a recreational vehicle in the front yard setback can be made and therefore APPROVES this request based on the following findings. Findinas: 1. 2. That parking in or access to the side yard would require structural alteration to the existing residence or would require the removal of significant or unique landscaping in that the north side yard is inaccessible due to the placement of the existing single family residence and mature landscaping and the south side yard is too narrow to accommodate a recreational vehicle. That allowing the recreational vehicle in the front yard setback will not interfere with traffic on the street or sidewalk or encroach into the street and utility right of way or interfere with visibility to or from any street in that the recreational vehicle wilt be parked as far behind the property line as possible and will be substantially screened behind an existing retaining wall and landscaping. $ City of Carlsbad MICHAEL J.
