I CALLED ED DAVIDSON ON MARCH 1ST.AND HE SUGGESTED THAT I CONTACT MIKE GRIM OF YOUR DEPARTMENT, WHICH I DID. AFTER REVIEW- ING THE SITUATION, MIKE SUGGESTED I SUBMIT A REQUEST FOR AN ADMINISTRATIVE VARIANCE WITH PHOTOS, ETC. THIS IS THAT REQUEST. DUE TO THE NARROW SIDE YARDS AND THE EXISTENCE OF EXTENSIVE 23 YEAR OLD TREES AND SHRUBBERY, THERE IS NO ACCESS TO THE SIDE OR BACK YARDS. THE R.V. IS 9 FT. 10" WIDE INCLUDING SIDE MIRRORS. THE NORTH SIDE YARD IS 8 FT. 7" WIDE AND THE SOUTH SIDE YARD IS 6 FT. 8" WIDE. THE CABLE BOX ON THE NORTH SIDE REDUCES ACCESS BY ONE FT. I PURCHASED MY HOME IN 1977 AND HAVE, AT ALL TIMES SINCE, OWNED AN R.V. PARKED IM MY DRIVEWAY. THE PRESENT TREES AND SHRUBBERY, AS YOU CAN SEE BY THE ENCLOSED PHOTOS, EFFECTIVELY SHIELD THE R.V. FROM PUBLIC VIEW EXCEPT FROM THE DIRECT FRONT OF PROPERTY. THERE HAVE BEEN NO COMPLAINTS TO ME IN THE 24 YEARS I HAVE BEEN HERE, AND THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE IS TWO FEET INSIDE THE DRIVEWAY. Tatosky, Jr. 771 I Calina Way Carlsbad Ca 92009 Dear Property Owner: We have received a complaint about the property located at 771 1 Calina Way. According to our records, you are the owner of that property. In response to the complaint, the property was inspected yesterday. It was observed that there is a motor home parked in the required front yard, a violation of CMC 21.44.060(2), enclosed. Correction Required: Remove the motor home to a lawful location as soon as possible, and in no case later than March 29,2001. The property must be maintained in a clean, safe condition, in full compliance with all applicable city codes. Failure to comply with this notice may result in your being issued a criminal citation and/or the case being referred to the City Attorney for additional action.
