HomeMy WebLinkAboutAV 01-14; Tatosky RV Variance; Administrative Variance (AV)June 19,2001 Mr. Art Tatosky 771 1 Calina Way Carlsbad, CA 92009 SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR PERMISSION TO PARK A RECREATIONAL VEHICLE IN THE FRONT YARD SETBACK AT 771 1 CALINA WAY The Planning Director has completed a review of your request to park a recreational vehicle in your front yard setback, pursuant to section 21.44.060 of the Carlsbad Municipal Code. After careful consideration of the circumstances surrounding this request, the Planning Director has determined that the findings required for allowing the parking of a recreational vehicle in the front yard setback can be made and therefore APPROVES this request based on the following findings. Findinqs: 1. 2. That parking in or access to the side yard would require structural alteration of the existing single family home in that the south and north side yards are too narrow to provide access to the rear yard or to park a recreational vehicle within. Additionally, providing parking .for a recreational vehicle in the side yard would require the removal of significant mature landscaping. That allowing the parking of a recreational vehicle in the front yard setback will not interfere with traffic on the street or sidewalk or encroach into the street and utility right of way or interfere with visibility to or from any street in that the recreational vehicle will be parked as far behind the property line as possible and will be substantially screened behind existing landscaping. The recreational vehicle must not intrude into the public right of way at any time. City of Carlsbad MICHAEL J.
