SUBJECT: REQUEST FOR ACTION REGARDING MS. BOWEN’S
COMPLAINTS
For approximately the past 6 months, staff has been working to resolve Ms. Bowen’s
complaints about the impacts that the neighboring development (CT 88-6, Granada
Villas) has had on her property at 2637 Davis Ave. We’ve concluded that staff cannot
reasonably resolve all of her complaints, such as replacing the duplexes in the
development with single family homes. However, other issues are being resolved. The
developer of Granada Villas recently received an administrative variance to raise a
retaining wall which borders Ms. Bowen’s rear property line. Raising this wall will allow
the developer to raise the grade to redirect drainage from Mr. Bowen’s property to Lewis
Lane. The developer anticipates construction of the wall to begin within the next few
weeks. We are also working with the developer to fix another perceived drainage
problem located at the southeast comer of Ms. Bowen’s property.
Please contact me at ext. 4324 if you have any questions or would like to learn about the
details.
