Enclosed for your review are revised plans and project information for Minor CUP 15-07 as
approved by the City of Carlsbad in August of 2015 for the co-location of Verizon antennas and
associated equipment located at 6510 Black Rail Road. The plans have been revised and require a
Consistency Determination to reduce the total amount of square footage associated with the
Verizon equipment enclosures.
The original proposal included a 187 SF indoor enclosure measuring 9' -4" x 20' -0" and a separate
178 SF enclosure of the associated emergency back-up generator measuring 13' -4" x 13' -4" as
depicted below:

However recent changes to the approved market equipment called Macro Cell Evolution
(MCE) has contributed to a substantial consolidation of the space needed to host Verizon
equipment, which now only includes 2 outdoor equipment cabinets and a smaller back-up

generator. Currently this configuration is able to fit entirely within the previously
approved GEN footprint and has been updated slightly to achieve proper clearences to an
overall size of 168 SF with a dimension of 12' -0" x 14' -0" as depicted below which no
longer includes the separate 9'x20' indoor enclosure:

In short, the project has reduced from an overall footprint of 365 SF to 168 SF. We appreciate
