NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Minor Coastal Development Permit
COMPLETE DATE: November 5, 1996
DESCRIPTION:
Placement of a temporary information center for the Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation, in a
previously disturbed site with no biological resources, to continue the docent program
associated with the Batiquitos Lagoon Enhancement Project and related public
information activities.
LOCATION:
This project is within the City of Carlsbad's Coastal Zone at: the north side of Batiquitos
Lagoon, between Gabbiano Lane and Melodia Terrace.
ASSESSOR'S PARCEL NUMBER: 215-644-11
APPLICANT: Batiquitos Lagoon Foundation
No formal public hearing is required for this application because (1) the proposed development
costs $60,000 or less; (2) no other discretionary approvals are required; and (3) there will be no
adverse impacts on coastal resources or public access to the shoreline or coast.
Be advised that a public hearing will only be held for this proposal upon the receipt by the
City of a written request for a public hearing within fifteen (15) working days of the date of
this notice, or by November 26, 1996. Failure to request a hearing or provide written
comments within the fifteen (15) working day timeframe may result in loss of the ability to
appeal to the Coastal Commission any action taken by the City on this Minor Coastal
Development Permit Application.
The Planning Director will determine this application fifteen (15) working days after the
date of this notice if no public hearing is requested.
