SUBJECT: SDP 96-14/CDP 96-16 {LEGOLAND CARLSBAD) - COMPLIANCE
WITH PALOMAR AIRPORT C.L.U.P.
Site Development Plan 96-14 and Coastal Development Permit 96-16 is enclosed
for your review. This project LEGOLAND Carlsbad is a theme park on
approximately 128 acres in area with 164,000 square feet of buildings and parking
for 5,310 vehicles. The proposed use was approved as part of the Carlsbad Ranch
Specific Plan which you previously reviewed. The project falls inside the 60 and 65
CNEL noise contours within the Palomar Airport influence area. The project is
located on the north side of Palomar Airport Road west of future Hidden Valley
Road and east of Armada Drive and is 4,900 feet west of the Airport boundary.
Your written comments concerning the project's conformance with Palomar
'Airport's Comprehensive Land Use Plan, along with other factors that would assure
compatibility with airport operations, are appreciated. It would be helpful if
comments are received by February 3, 1997.
