SUBJECT: CDP 97-30 - HEERS ADDITION
The Heers Addition has been scheduled for the Planning Commission meeting of September 17,
1997. However, because the project site is located within the appeal area of Carlsbad’s Local
Coastal Program, it is also subject to appeal time periods required by the California Coastal
Commission. I wanted to notify you of these time frames so you could plan your construction
accordingly.
911 7/97 Planning Commission meeting/City decision
9129197 10 calendar day City appeal period ends
913 0197 Notice of Final Action sent to Coastal Commission; start of 10 working
day appeal period
10/13/97 . Legal holiday
10/14/97. End of appeal period
10/14/97 Effective date/OK to issue building permit
Coastal Commission regulations are rather onerous with regard to time; however, the City is
bound by these requirements and is unable to modify the time frames. Staff will do all it can to
ensure that your application is processed as expeditiously as possible.
