NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Minor Coastal Development Permit
COMPLETE DATE: January 13, 1998
DESCRIPTION: Addition of a 2,000 square foot greenhouse building to an existing 2,000
square foot greenhouse building to be used for the sale of flowers, produce and other
related items for the promotion of ‘I-IX Flower Fields at Carlsbad Ranch. Also proposed
is 111~ removal of the lexan glazing on the existing building and replacing it with class
“A*’ metal sheeting.
LOCATION: l‘his pmject is within the City of‘ C’arlsbad’s Coastal Zone at: The northeast corner
of‘ Palomar Airport Road and Paseo De1 Norte.

APPLICANT: Carlsbad Ranch Enterprises
No formal public hearing is required for this application because (1) the proposed development
costs $60,000 or less; (2) no other discretionary approvals are required; and (3) there will be no
adverse impacts on coastal resources or public access to the shoreline or coast.
Be advised that a public hearing will onlv be held for this proposal upon the receipt bv the
City of a written request for a public hearing within fifteen (15) working days of the date of
this notice, or bv February 3, 1998. Failure to request a hearing or provide written comments
within the fifteen (15) working day timeframe may result in loss of the ability to appeal to the
Coastal Commission any action taken by the City on this Minor Coastal Development Permit
Application.
The Planninr Director will determine this application fifteen (15) working days after the
date of this notice if no public hearing is requested.
