HomeMy WebLinkAboutCDP 97-49; Flower Fields Retail Sales Building; Coastal Development Permit (CDP) (4)November 12,1998 Chris Calkins Carltas Company 5600 Avenida Encinas, Suite 100 Carlsbad, CA 92008 SUBJECT: FLOWER FIELDS RETAIL NURSERY Dear Chris: Your proposal to develop a retail nursery in Planning Area 7 (Flower Fields) of the Carlsbad Ranch Specific Plan has been reviewed by the Planning Director and the Assistant Planning Director. It has been determined that the use can be classified as one of the accessory uses provided for in the specific plan. To have the project considered further, you will need to submit an application for a Conditional Use Permit as required by the Williamson Act Land Conservation Contract. In addition a Coastal Development Permit is required. As we have previously discussed the granting of any permits for the project would be conditioned on the nursery/garden center operation being accessory to the continuation of a bulb growing and cut flower fanning operation for which the nursery would also function as the retail service operator.
