Holmiller Planning Director City of Carlsbad 2075 La Palmas Dr. Carlsbad, CA 92009- 1576 Re: \ ViaFacsim CDP 97-58(A) - May Subdivision Dear Mr. Holzmiller: I am writing to you in response to several neighborhood issues that have surfaced concerning our rights to develop the above referenced subdivision. Issue number one relates to the land development work currently underway. This work is being performed in compliance with the plans and specifications that were designed, processed, reviewed and approved in concert with the City of Carlsbad Planning and Engineering Departments and the Planning Commission and City Council. Issue number two relates to an attempt, by several neighbors, to pressure the City to compel Carlsbad Estates LLC to design homes to comply with their personal tastes and preferences. At this point and considering the devastating negative financial impact any subjective decision could have on the subdivision, we respectfully request an opportunity to meet with you and any other appropriate City staff members to discuss the situation. We have been cooperative in the past during the entire entitlement process and pledge to you that we will continue to work in a very positive fashion with the City of Carlsbad. In summary, we are a bit confused and very concerned and would appreciate the opportunity, at your earliest convenience, to discuss the situation. Thank you in advance for your consideration of our request. Herb Palmtag cc: HP: bgt Ms. Anne HysongKity of Carlsbad
