DESCRIPTION:
Request for approval of a Negative Declaration and Coastal Development Permit to allow for the
replacement of the VistaKarlsbad interceptor gravity sewer pipeline along Jefferson Street
between Las Flores Drive and Oak Avenue, a portion of which is in the Coastal Commission
Appeal area, and the realignment of the gravity sewer pipeline along Carlsbad Village Drive to
be realigned in Oak Avenue between Jefferson Street and the railroad right-of-way, within Local
Facilities Management Zone 1.
LOCATION:
This project is within the City of Carlsbad’s Coastal Zone at: north of Laguna Drive and
proximate to Carlsbad Village Drive within the Redevelopment segment of the LCP.

A public hearing on the above proposed project will be held by the Planning Commission at the
Senior Center, 799 Pine Avenue, Carlsbad, California, on April 1, 1998 at 6:00 p.m.
Persons are cordially invited to attend the public hearing and provide the decision makers with
any oral or written comments they may have regarding the project. The project will be described
and a staff recommendation given, followed by public testimony, questions and a decision.
Copies of the staff report will be available on or after March 26, 1998.

APPEALS
If you challenge the Coastal Development Permit in court, you may be limited to raising only
those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in
written correspondence delivered to the City of Carlsbad prior to the public hearing.
1. Aupeals to the Citv Council: Where the decision is appealable to the City Council,
appeals must be filed in writing within ten (10) calendar days after a decision by the
Planning Commission.
2. Coastal Commission Appealable Project:

Where the decision is appealable to the Coastal Commission, appeals must be filed with the
