Re: Case File CDP 98-17
I cannot attend the public hearing on the referenced project to be
held in the Council Chambers, 1200 Carlsbad Village Drive, on June
17 at 6:00 p.m. These are my comments regarding the proposal to
construct a single family residence and a second dwelling unit
within the City's Coastal Zone at 4160 Sunnyhill Drive. A second
dwelling unit implies either a lot split or a "granny shack". I oppose
either. There is already one flag lot across the street One is one too
many. The ambiance of the neighborhood depends on the large,
spacious lots. The size of these lots is what makes the properties so
valuable, so sought after. Lot splits and granny shacks can only
lower property values. I urge the Planning Commission to reject this
request.
