Home My WebLink AboutCDP 98-26; DeJong Residential Project; Coastal Development Permit (CDP) (2)-7/23 City of Carlsbad Planning Department July 23, 2003 Keystone Communities Michael Bass Suite 360 5333 Mission Center Road San Diego CA 92108-1351 RE: CDP 98-26 - DEJONG PROPERTY Dear Mr. Bass: This letter is in regards to the status of the Coastal Development Permit (CDP 98-26) for the DeJong Property located on the northeast comer of Poinsettia Lane and Black Rail Road in the city of Carlsbad. The original project was approved by the City Council on May 11, 1999. The original conditions of approval were good for a two-year period. The first map extension and CDP extension were applied for on March 1, 2001. The Planning Director, subsequent to the approval of the Tentative Map extension by the Planning Commission, approves the CDP extensions. The map was extended on June 6, 2001 and the CDP was extended on June 7, 2001. The second extension of the project was applied for on April 8, 2002. The map was extended on July 17, 2002 and the CDP was extended on July 19, 2002. The third and last extension request of the map and CDP were applied for on April 9, 2003. The City was concurrently processing the map extension at the same time as the recordation of the final map. It was determined that the final map would record about the same time as the map extension was approved. The map was approved by City council for recordation on July 8, 2003 and has since recorded. The processing of the extension, which allowed for the processing of the final map, is no longer needed as the map has recorded. With the recordation of the map, the other permits, including the CDP are now vested with the recordation of the map. As you can see from the above timelines, the CDP extension has always followed the approval of the map extension and with the approval of the final map; the Coastal Permit is vested with the map.
