MINOR COASTAL DEVELOPMENT PERMlTlCDP 98-28 - DECISION LETTER
In accordance with Section 21.201.080 of the City’s Zoning Ordinance, which regulates
the processing of Minor Coastal Permits, the Planning Department is prepared to take
action on permit number CDP 98-28.
Project Descriotion:
Construction of a storage/electrical room to be located in the southeast corner of the
site that previously accommodated a trash enclosure. The structure will be
approximately 170 square feet in size and 11’ 8” in height. Stucco walls with tile roof
will be provided.

The Planning Director hereby APPROVES CDP 98-28 based on the findings and
subject to the conditions listed below:
Findinqs:
1. The project is consistent with the Local Coastal Program which designates the
subject site for commercial land uses. The proposed storage/electrical room will
not impact coastal resources.
2. No coastal access or recreation impacts are associated with the proposed
improvements to the existing trash enclosure.
3. The project’s cost of development has been determined to be less than$60,000.
4. No other discretionary entitlements are required for this project.

Conditions:
1. The Planning Director does hereby APPROVE the Minor Coastal Permit, CDP
98-28 for the storage/electrical room project entitled “Toyota Carlsbad
Electric Room”. Exhibit “A”, dated March 24, 1998, on file in the Planning
Department and incorporated by this reference, subject to the conditions herein
set forth. Staff is authorized and directed to make, or require the Applicant to
make, all corrections and modifications to the Minor Coastal Permit documents,
as necessary to make them internally consistent and in conformity with the final
action on the project. The development shall occur substantially as shown on
the approved Exhibit. Any proposed development substantially different from
this approval, shall require an amendment to this approval.
2. The effective date for this permit shall be after City and Coastal
Commission appeal periods have been exercised.
