HomeMy WebLinkAboutCP 90-11; Shinn Condominium Conversion; Condo Permit (CP) (7)February 21,1991 To: Deputy City Attorney From Building Technician Subject: 4537 Cove Drive / George Shinn An inspection of one unit of the duplex was conducted by Tony Mata, Principal Building Inspector, Peter Dreibelbis, Building Inspector II, and Ray Garrison Building Technician on February 21, 1991. This inspection confirmed Mr Shinns attempt to deceive this department and cover up his code violations rather than remove them. The Loft area second kitchen had base cabinet in place and built in wall cabinets. All electrical outlets, which were to be removed, were simply plastered over. Upon removing the wet plaster and wall board all electrical boxes and wires were still in place behind the patch. The wall between the second kitchen and the upper living room where a pass_thru existed was patched with out studs to support the patch. The wall dividing the second floor was gone and the stair way was open as required. Because it is apparent that Mr Shinn is attempting to cover up rather than remove the violations Principal Building Inspector wants all cabinets removed from the loft areas, all unpermitted electrical work removed from the walls and the electrical panel and walls left open where electrical and unpermitted plumbing, was removed, remove all finish flooring in the storage areas of the loft. Would you please Make Mr Shinn aware of these corrections, as he has been very uncooperative with the Building Department staff and I think a letter from you will do more to resolve this matter than a letter from me.
