RE: George Schinn Project
4537 Cove Drive
Met with Pete and Ray at George Schinn's duplex on Cove Drive 11:15 AM
today.
I asked for another inspection, reason being that ail the corrections were
not complied with. Mr. Schinn was ordered to remove all unpermitted
electric work, boxes etc. We found electric boxes muddied over to conceal
the outlet. I told Pete to remove all the areas involved and we found all
the wiring still hot and not removed. I also told him to remove all cabinets
from the area as this area was being used as a kitchen.
The attic area was being used for habitation. Bedroom and kitchen windows
do not comply with code requirements for human occupancy. At this time
I would suggest that all cosmetic items, carpets, cabinets, electric outlets,
be removed and made to comply with approved plan.
The opening that was created was drywalled over with no wood studs installed.
He was told to correct the situation.
To my thinking, Mr. Schinn has not acted fairly with our department in
complying with our corrections, and he tried to deceive us by doing what
he did. I therefore cannot have any recourse but to enforce our demands
to the hilt as required by the adopted codes and City zoning ordinance.
