The City of Carlsbad has conducted an environmental review of the above described project pursuant to the Guidelines for Implementation of the California Environmental Quality Act and the Environmental Protection Ordinance of the City of Carlsbad. As a result of said review, a Conditional Negative Declaration (declaration that the project will not have a significant impact on the environment based upon mitigating measures being incorporated into project) is hereby issued for the subject project. Approximately 80,000 c.y. is proposed to be exported to Alicante Hills (CT 81-29), an approved tentative map on the north side of Corte de la Vista, and 310,0001 c.y. is proposed to be ex- ported to Alga Hills, 1400± feet to the northwest. The earth moving operation would occur solely on Daon Corporation property and would cross three public streets (Corte de la Vista, Alicante Road, and Altiva Place). The operation will take approximately 16,250± trips over a time period of 4± months. Proposed Use; The Alga Hills site is currently vacant. The site is in a developed area and future residential use is proposed. The proposed earth moving will help reduce earthwork on the site in the future.
