This law requires that the State of California Department of Fish and Game levy a fee to all project applicants (public and private) subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) to defray the cost of managing and protecting fish and wildlife trust resources. Projects which are categorically exempt from CEQA which have no adverse impact on fish and wildlife or projects which are denied are not subject to the fee.
