Reference: Ocean Bluff, Noise Barrier Wall
I reviewed the four exhibits received May 26 1994, and have run calculations of the
noise attenuation provided by each of the four alternatives. The following
assumptions were made:
1. The noise wall is 6 feet high.
2. The observer is standing 55 feet from the edge of the right-of-
way, that is, 1O6 feet from the centerline of Poinsettia Lane.
In the case of alternative No.4, an extra case is considered
with the observer standing at the wall of the dwelling.
3. The observer 's ears are 5 feet above the ground.
4. Pad grade is 5 feet below street grade.
5. Poinsettia Lane will be carrying 24.8OO Average Daily Trips
(ADT) at 55 mph with 97 percent autos. 2 percent medium
trucks and 1 percent heavy vehicles [Source: Hunsaker and
