HomeMy WebLinkAboutCT 94-01; Poinsettia Shores; Tentative Map (CT) (27)APRIL 21, 1994 TO: CITY TRAFFIC ENGINEER FROM: Associate Engineer, Davis VIA PRINCIPAL CIVIL ENGINEER OF LAND CT 93-06, POINSETTIA SHORES, STRIPPING PLANS Attached is a marked stripping plan, shts. 31-33. We would like to have your opinion on the plan by May 2, 1994, if that is possible. The plan is from plans for Assessment District 94-01, being proposed. It was submitted to us as a preliminary with the review of a master tentative map. One of the conditions of approval for the map will be to construct Avenida Encinas from it's present terminus at Windrose Circle to an intersection with Carlsbad Boulevard. How the traffic would be handled is a part of the review and we asked the applicant to show us if the proposed stripping is feasible. We have three areas of concern with the plan as follows: 1. Sheet 33; Is the merging from two lanes to one lane along a substandard (for a secondary arterial) curve by the use of stripping acceptable? 2. Sheet 33; Should the taper start after the substandard curve and use a concrete curb taper? 3. Sheet 32; The connection between the two Carlsbad Boulevard roadbeds show a lane crossed out. It appears that this lane is not needed because the only traffic that utilizes this connection is from a single left turn from Carlsbad Boulevard going south. To construct the lane and then to maintain it stripped-out appears unnecessary. Do you believe the lane should be deleted? C: Sherri Howard Eric Munoz H:\UBRARYAENO\WPDATA\DAVIS\STRIPAVE.ENC
