MAGNOLIA GARDENS SECOND DWELLING UNITS
I've reviewed the plans you've sent me and have the following comment:
1. It appears that there is a partial kitchen in the Second Dwelling Unit (SDU). The definition
of an SDU (CMC 21.04.303) requires the provision of "complete independent living
facilities... It includes permanent provisions for living, sleeping, eating, cooking and
sanitation..." Housing and Redevelopment Department staff has applied this standard by
requiring a full sink, stove, dishwasher, space for a refrigerator, and cabinets/storage space
within the SDU. These amenities must be clearly shown on the plans.
If the applicant makes the above stated change, the Housing and Redevelopment Department
would recommend that the plans go forward to the Planning Commission with a recommendation
