Re: Standard Pacific Housing, Thompson/Tabata Property
Dear Mayor Lewis:
Thank you for taking the time to read this letter regarding my opposition to the
proposed building of 262 dwelling units on the above referenced property.
I have written previously and signed a petition objecting to the proposed
building which will send traffic through the Spinnaker Hill and Vista Pacifica
neighborhoods. Apparently, the concern of the neighborhoods has not been taken very
seriously by the Planning Commission which has approved the application.
New construction is expected, but the consequences of adding traffic through
established neighborhoods is not expected. The use of the streets through exisiting
neighborhoods adds unwanted traffic and causes safety concerns. TRAFFIC also
dimenishes the value of property, no matter the cost of the adjoining homes. Why should
we bear the burden of added traffic? It is the responsibility of the developer and the
Planning Commision to devise a plan which does not encroach on our streets.
Please, hear our voices, do not approve a plan which sends traffic through
Vista Pacific at Snapdragon and through Rose Drive to Daisy (Spinnaker Hill). Standard
Pacific owes it to the community (where they have been very successful, I might add)
to provide access to their proposed development without negatively impacting our
neighborhoods.
Thank your for having consideration for our neighborhoods.
Sincerely,
Sherri Chamberlin
