Subject: Reduction of Property Values
Dear Planning Department;
As a homeowner and resident of Mariners Point, specifically 6737 Camphor
Place, Carlsbad I am shocked and dismayed to hear of plans for low income
housing being forced on the builders of Poinsettia Properties, Standard
Pacific Homes. If I wanted to live in a low income area I would have bought
a house there. Instead I chose to spend my hard earned housing dollars in an
upscale, affluent and expensive neigborhood where the taxes are high and I
happily pay them on time with my hard earned wages. Do you plan to
compensate me for my loss in property value when you dictate that I should
bare the brunt of the devalued properties cost? I am vehemently against any
edict that forces such unnatural social programs on those of us who through
hard work have attained a measure of financial security.
Sincerely
William L. Ippolito
