From: <DAVESZAT@aol.com> To: <CDAdmin@ci.carlsbad.ca.us> Date: 12/27/99 4:49PM Subject: re: Pointsettia Properties developement of Standard Pacific Attn: City of Carlsbad Planning Department I understand that the City of Carlsbad is going to require Standard Pacific to include low income housing in their development of Pointsettia Properties. This property is across the street (south) of the Mariner's Point development, where I live. At the present time, there is already a low cost housing project east of us across Aviara Parkway. In addition, the tract immediately north of the Pacific Rim Elementary school will all be attached homes. I am curious as to why all of the low income housing in this area should beneath built adjacent to our development. This will certainly adversely impact the value of our development, as well as all of the other developments in the area. Why wasn't a low cost development included in Aviara? I wish to go on record AGAINST low cost housing in Poinsettia Properties. If additional low cost housing is necessary, let it be built further north or east, in another neighborhood. I believe we've already done our share. I'm prepared to join in the fight against additional low cost housing in this area. I'll speak out with my voice and with my VOTE! David Szatkowski
