Carlsbad City Council Hr, Paul Bussey, City Flanager Mr, Ed Johnson, Parks Dept, 1200 Elm Street
Carlsbad, California,
Good Morning:
The members of the board of the Bicentennial Historical Society have studied the plans for the Hagee house and have selected several rooms that would make a desirable location for the display and collection of historical memorabilia. FJe are already keeping many items that have been turned over to the Society,
The main entrance is now planned for the west side of the house so the Historical Society could use the former Eeech Street enirance anri ooltl'oiiie rwiils 3, C, D, E & Z' as a historical center.
The Board feels the tremendous responsibility of develop-
ing and mafntaining an interesting historical center. In the background of our minds is the value of civic pride, In helping to build this vital quality for our City, we may prevent shameful disasters as the effort to destroy this houseg and inspire others to make contributions to Carlsbad.
The arrangement of the selected rooms would allow us to have excellent display rooms, room E for storage and F as a work room, thanked. Gifts will need to be cataloged and donors Access would also be good from roams A and G,
We are most interested in the progress on the grounds and look forward to the start of the restoration of the build-
Director of Parks and Recreatang,
