HomeMy WebLinkAboutCUP 128A; City of Carlsbad; Conditional Use Permit (CUP) (3)MEMORANDUM >-/i!p7 ' TO : Tom Hageman, Planning Department FROM : Jon Hatch, Park Superintendent DATE : May 6, 1977 SUBJECT: USE OF BIG BEAR LOADING AREA FOR PARKING DURING PUBLIC FUNCTIONS 1 Permission for the use of Big Bear Supermarket's loading area for parking at specified times for Harding Street Community Center has tentatively been given. The owner of the property, E, W. Dawson Corporation, was contacted on May 5, 1977, by telephone and Art Dawson gave his verbal permission for use of the loading area provided Big Bear, who is currently leasing the property, concurred, A call was made the same day to John Mabee, President of the Big Bear Markets, who referred me to the store manager. The area was looked at by Mike Sneff, Store Manager, and I on May 6, 1977, and the following conditions were outlined: 1. The area would consist of the Western half of the loading area with an approximate capacity of 10 vehicles. 2. Hours for the use of this area would be after 6:30 p.m. . daily including holidays with the exception of Mondays and Wednesdays after 7:30 p.m. 3. The City of Carlsbad would releive Big Bear Supermarkets, Inc., of any vehicular or pedestrian liability in the designated area for the hours of use as stated above. 4. Two copies of a signed agreement from the City of Carlsbad by Mike Sneff and legal counsel of the City of Carlsbad to Big Bear Supermarkets, Inc. Because of legal implications, I have enclosed similar supple- mental information and a rough draft of an agreement for your consideration, @arks Superintendent JH : scf
