When the Delaware County Timing Aoeociation and the Delaware
County DragBtrip, Inc. were formed in tM8 area by the Hot Rod
Car Clubs, I waa Chief of Police of Muncie, Indiana, and in this
capacity I supported their came one hundred perceht. The club
boys helped me in safety checks, polio marches, blood donations,
hubcap atendling and numerours other community projects. The
response from contractora, excawatore, and various other people
wa~ tremendoue!
I would like to "go on record" a8 cammending the work of the
Muncie Dragway and their aecomplidwnents in policing drivers
on and off the dragatrip. It ie my belief that lives have been
spared and, In addition, we have nated great improvement in
the driving habit. which our yQung drivere have learned from
the examplee that atrip participants have displayed.
The club's rnottu, "Champions race on the srtrip and not on the
atreet," is a law of their own by which they live. These clubs
and the Huncie Dragway QeiPerve the commendation of "A JOB
WELL DONE, '' and I wirh them every succe~o in their future
