CUP 165x1 MAY FOLIAGE - BNSTOL COVE TESTS
The first report of March 9, 19910 says pesticides and PCB’s were not detected at coring
two and four (Page 3, 1st Paragraph). Then it says pesticides and PCB’s were all below
hazardous threshold. Yet test results (Table 11) show chlorinated pesticides less than 0.01
and PCB less than 1 .O. I presume 0.01 and 1 .O are the hazardous thresholds, perhaps they ., did not test below that level. f(
The follow-up reportwof December 5, 1990 tested for nutrients. No conclusions are
given. The tests results are very curious. The results show that total ammonia and total
nutrients are lowest near the drainage outfall and rise to a peak ne& the cove exigto the
main lagoon. At the mouth to the main lagoon the totals for both ammonia and nutrients
drop a little. My conclusion would be that the drainage outfall from May foliage does not
add significantly to the total nutrients in the cove, and the pesticides in the cove are below
the hazardous threshold.
