Dear Mr. Drinkwater:
It is our understanding that the County of San Diego would like to construct parking lots within
the Carlsbad Airport Centre on Lots 29,30 and 3 1. These parking lots would be used to support
the McClellan-Palomar Airport and Members of Carlsbad Airport Centre.
According to the Carlsbad Airport Centre Owners Association’s CC&R’s, Subject Property can
be constructed so long as such purposes are consistent with the Specific Plan and the zoning and
other such applicable ordinances of the City of Carlsbad, California.
The Carlsbad Airport Centre Owners Association in general supports County Airports in their
plans to develop these parking lots. However, in order to ensure that design and zoning
standards for the Carlsbad Airport Centre, contained in our Architectural Guidelines are
achieved, and per CACOA’s CC&R’s, design plans must be submitted for approval prior to any
work being performed on the lot. Plans must include landscaping, irrigation, lighting, trash
enclosure placement, signage, street setbacks, berms, etc., as per the Architectural Guidelines.
Upon review and approval of the site plans, CACOA will provide County Airports and the City
of Carlsbad’s Planning Department with an approval letter accepting the project.
