DATE : July 14, 1980
TO : Frank Aleshire, City Manager f
nY FROM: Michael Howes, Assistant Planner
SUBJECT: CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
The San Dieguito Women's Auxiliary of the Children's Hospital and Health Center has asked for the city's approval to hold a symphony performance in La Costa. The La Costa Land Company has informed the city that the proposed site of the symphony adjacent to the golf course has been used for the past four years as a site for the symphony performance. The
performance will be held between 7:OO P.M. and 1O:OO P.M., with the audience gathering at 5:OO P.M., on July 20, 1980.
The applicant has also supplied proof of insurance coverage for the proposed event.
According to Section 21.42.010(2)(D) 2 of the Carlsbad Zoning Ordinance, this type of event would require a temporary conditional use permit which could be granted by the City
Manager. Your signature on the back of the application
would constitute approval of the proposed temporary conditional
use permit.
The Planning Department is recommending approval of this temporary conditional use permit with the following conditions:
1. The proposed symphony event shall not impede pedestrian or vehicular traffic along Alicante Road.
2. This temporary conditional use permit is valid for July
20, 1980, only.
I have enclosed a copy of the zoning ordinance referring to temporary conditional use permits for your convenience. If you decide to approve this request by signing the attached application, the Planning Department will write a letter of approval with the above conditions to the applicant. If you have any further questions, please contact me.
