This early public notice is to let you know that a development application for a
Conditional Use Permit (CUP) Amendment project within your neighborhood has been
submitted to the City of Carlsbad on March 12, 2007. The project application is
undergoing its initial review by the City.
LOCATION: On the west side of Aviara Parkway at 1400 Flame Tree Lane, Carlsbad
92011.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The applicant is proposing to amend the conditions of the
existing Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for a faith-based retirement residence. The
original CUP stated that the permit was non-transferable to any other faith-based entity.
This amendment would modify that condition to allow the use to be transferable with the
land. It is important to note that the use would not change and the existing use would
remain as a faith-based retirement facility. As an additional condition of approval an
expiration date would be included where the permit would expire after twenty (20) years.
Please keep in mind that this is an early public notice and that the project could change
as a result of further staff and public review. A future public hearing notice will be
mailed to you when this project is scheduled for public hearing before the Planning
Commission.
