Subsequently, on May 1, 1981 the San Diego Coast Regional Commis- sion unanimously approved this project and will issue a Coastal Development Permit when we submit plans for landscaping along Carlsbad Boulevard utilizing native plant species. We are presently working with Mi tchell Beauchamp, a local botanist, on the development of this plan. The purpose of this letter is to request that CUP-194 be amended to allow for the addition of a 40'x60' single story hatchery building adjacent to the existing field laboratory operated by San Diego State University. identifies aquaculture as a coastal -dependent use that should have priority in coastal development.
