In conversations with my staff, it was decided that the fence shall be no higher than eight (8) feet. It shall not exceed six hundred (600) feet in length starting the measurement from the, northern edge of the existing SDG&E redwood chain link fence which surrounds the thermal effluent lagoon and existing aquacul- ture 1 aboratory . Condition 5 of the same Planning Commission Resolution requires a detailed landscape and irrigation plan. The preliminary drawings which you subitted must be revised and expanded to be accept- able. The city would agree to having the area landscaped with native species such as lemonade berry, toyon, laurel sumac and California pepper trees. Other native species might be accept- able. All the plants would be on 15-foot centers with the excep- tion of the pepper trees which would be planted on 40-foot centers. The detailed plan should show the entire site with the landscaping and the irrigation plan as well. The city must re- ceive and approve the landscape plan before 7 any construction begins. Aquacul ture Systems International April 30, 1981 Page Two (2) Condition 7 also states that the landscaped areas shall be main- tained in a healthy condition free from weeds, trash and debris.
